More Crochet

Hello,  I'm still here, but haven't been around internet-land recently due to our phone line suddenly dying again!  A fault at the exchange apparently, meaning a few days cold turkey from e-mails, blogs, pinterest, etc etc.  Actually I didn't miss it too much and found myself digging out books to read, tidying shelves and catching up with some of the stuff  I've recorded on TV while turning out this little rainbow of blocks ready for my next blanket.  

Don't they look pretty!  The plan is to make about 4 of each colour then add a white border to each one and arrange them roughly in a similar rainbow order rather than randomly like I usually do.  I think they would look lovely without the white too, maybe joined at the points, as you go.  Perhaps I'll do that next time!  There's a whole mixture of brands here, all washable merino or wool.  Most are leftover balls from past blankets, or ones that I bought and then decided not to use.  The pattern is from the book "200 Crochet Blocks" by Jan Eaton, altered just slightly in the 3rd round by changing every 3rd treble into a chain to give a more lacy feel.  It's an easy and popular block,  I've seen loads on the internet, but that's the beauty of crochet. Even with the same pattern, every project will turn out different and special to the maker :)  

Right, better go and catch up with some housework!
